A Graphistrength® product range and an application method designed to minimize exposure risks

The risk of exposure to carbon nanotubes is greatest when powder products are used. Arkema is therefore developing as a matter of priority liquid and solid products in which carbon nanotubes have already been dispersed.

When Graphistrength® powders need to be used, Arkema supplies its products in appropriate containers together with the  recommendations to be followed to minimize exposure risks down to an acceptable level. Arkema can also assist its customers in their own plants with deploying the necessary preventive resources and procedures for the safe use of its Graphistrength® powders.

Finally, it should be noted that Graphistrength® powders contain multiwall carbon nanotubes clustered into balls with a large average diameter of the order of several hundreds of micrometers. This characteristic considerably reduces the possibility of any airborne spreading during the handling of Graphistrength® powders, and therefore significantly cuts down any related risk of inhalation.
